Description
The Component Data Tool is an application to export data from the Excel file to the Tekla Structures component using attribute files.
The application allows to speed up modeling and what is more avoid errors during component complementation. The Component Data Tool can be use with both system and custom component.
Problem that app solves
Application solves the problem with mistakes apperance during providing data from designing assumptions to the model. We can easly transer data from the Excel file prepared for example by Static Department to Tekla Structures component saving time and avoiding errors.
The Component Data Tool can be use with both system and custom component. By using configuration file in the application users do not need to know the file extension of components and names of fields in components. Users just have to fill in Tekla component fields with an Excel column number providing data for this fields. After configuration file setup once the application can be use in very fast and simple way.
Feedback
This is the first version of the application which was created to be used with all components by all Engineers working with Tekla.
However this application was created on the base of other internal tool to transfer data between the Excel and the custom component prepared specially to our company. For now the tool which was the basis for this application got positive feedback as time saver and really usefull tool to avoid mistakes.
