Tekla Structures interfaces with analysis and design (A&D) packages through Tekla Open API. You can also link the software with A&D packages by file transfer and in-house A&D calculation spreadsheets. Tekla Structures supports, for example, SDNF, CIS/2 and IFC file formats.

Tekla Structures interfaces with the major MIS software solutions in steel and rebar fabrication and with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Production Planning Solutions (PPS) for precast concrete production. You can use Tekla reports, standardized file formats and advanced applications for data transfer. Some of these systems can export information back to Tekla Structures.

Tekla model data can be integrated with the leading rebar MES software and rebar processing systems using industry-standard formats such as BVBS, PXML and Unitechnik, as well as proprietary formats of aSa, LP-System, Soule and Arma+, among others.

CNC steel machines
In structural steel, you can integrate any CNC software that imports DSTV. More advanced applications can extract data, like assembly information, from the Tekla model for automatic layout and marking purposes.

In cold-rolled steel, you can integrate to machinery by providing a required CSV or an XML file, or any other format supported by the machinery manufacturer. Tekla Software supports multiple exports and formats.
Precast concrete machinery
For precast concrete production, information from a Tekla model can be transferred to communicate reinforcement, embedded materials and concrete geometry.
You can further enhance the information in your Tekla models by integrating communication and time-based management data. Mapping critical components of project management information into corresponding intelligent model objects lets you create dynamic dashboard views of project status. These dynamic links to project management help you to understand and visualize the true scope and context of schedule line items, change orders, payment requests and other various areas of project discussions.
Architectural & industrial collaboration
Tekla Structures can share model and drawing information with all major architectural and MEP modeling programs that are IFC-compliant, this includes Archicad, ADT, Revit Building, Nemetschek Allplan and Bentley Architecture. Other formats, such as DGN and DWG, are supported as well.
Tekla Structures interfaces with the major process and plant layout planning and piping design products, such as PDS, PDMS, Smartplant3D and CADMATIC. This integration means you’re able to benefit from better layout coordination and structural information.
