Perpetual Licensing ServicesEnd-of-life announcement: Retirement of Maintenance and Support Services for perpetual licenses of Tekla software Date Announced: October 1, 2026  Following our previous announcement on June 11, 2024 regarding the End of Sale of Tekla Maintenance products for Perpetual Licenses, Trimble is providing formal notice of the final retirement of Maintenance and Support Services for perpetual licenses of Tekla software. This means that Trimble will not actively provide access to old non-supported software versions, license activation service or license rehosting services. This applies to all perpetual licenses not having a valid maintenance contract and non-supported software versions according to our Tekla Lifecycle Policy.  The Deadline: 31 December 2027. On this date, license activation and re-hosting services for products not under a valid maintenance contract will not be supported. - Licenses without a valid maintenance contract: Trimble will not issue replacement keys or provide support. This is effective immediately.
- Licenses with a valid maintenance contract: You may continue to use activation services and re-host your licenses until 31 December 2027, during which time you remain fully supported and eligible for replacement keys.
After 31 December 2027: Trimble will no longer support re-hosting, activation services, or replacement keys for legacy perpetual licenses, regardless of maintenance status. Â
Why this change is happening: We are phasing out aging, hardware-locked infrastructure in favour of modern, identity-based licensing. This transition eliminates the risk of license loss due to local hardware failure and ensures your systems meet modern cybersecurity standards. Â How to ensure continuity: - Transition to Subscription: We strongly recommend moving to our Named User model. This removes all dependency on local hardware and ensures your access is secured via digital identity.
- Verify Server Reliability: If you choose to remain on a perpetual license, ensure it is hosted on a modern, stable server environment well before the 2027 deadline. After this date, a hardware failure will result in the permanent loss of the license.
- Maintain Active Support: Ensure your Maintenance agreement is current to utilize all associated services while they remain available.
- Ensure the access to latest Entitlements: If you continue using your perpetual entitlements, make sure you have activated the latest entitlement versions that have been delivered.

Tekla products support for Microsoft .Net 8End-of-life announcement: All versions of Tekla products which use Microsoft .Net 8 will stop being supported Date Announced: September 28, 2026 Â Trimble announces the end of life for all Tekla products that depend on Microsoft .NET 8, effective 10 November 2026. Â Microsoft Technology Dependencies Like most Windows desktop applications, Tekla products rely heavily on essential Microsoft technologies, such as built-in Windows features or supporting development frameworks. Consequently, our products are tied to Microsoft's official support lifecycles for these underlying components. When Microsoft ends support for a dependency, it directly affects software built upon it. The critical issue during an end-of-support transition is the loss of security updates. While unsupported software and dependencies may remain operational, upgrading to newer software releases backed by fully supported frameworks ensures you continue to receive vital security updates. Â Last date of product updates Microsoft's .NET and .NET Core Support Policy states that the extended support period for .Net 8 will end on 10 November 2026. Therefore, Trimble will end support for all Tekla product releases that depend on .NET 8 on the same date, 10 November 2026. Â Product upgrade options Trimble highly recommends using the latest available version of Tekla products. Please refer to the system and hardware requirements for specific Tekla products for more information. Â Affected Tekla products - Tekla Structural Designer 2025
- Tekla Structural Designer 2024
- Tekla Tedds 2025
