Tekla Structural Designer 2020 - Key features for modelling

Watch as we explore some of the key features and enhancements available for modelling in Tekla Structural Designer 2020, Service Pack 4. We’ll take a look at three main areas considered as modelling enhancements starting with how to model ancillary loading. This is a new feature that allows the user to quickly create loading for ancillary items such as, ladders (with and without cages), stairs, pipework and walkways etc. These loads can be set as line or area loads. Secondly, we’ll look at modelling inactive members. Now we can make single span beams, braces, elements, purlins and rails inactive, the benefit of this is it will allow us to have loads decomposing onto members without those members being active within the analysis. Finally, we look at the new lateral force resisting system wall type - Shear Only Walls with a view to understanding how the solver models behave.
