KN Technical Ltd was created 6 years ago by experienced industry professionals that had worked for UK steel fabricators for many years and grown frustrated with the lack of quality technical resources available in the industry. We are now looking for a dynamic Tekla CAD draughtsperson / technician to join the team at our midlands-based office in Mansfield.

We are a small team looking to expand to support the continued growth in demand for our services. We offer a fantastic working environment with likeminded individuals in offices with great facilities.

Applicant to be competent in:

  • Tekla Structures
  • Trimble Connect

The role:

The projects we undertake are wide ranging, so a candidate versatile with both structural and architectural projects would be ideal, the key is for a highly motivated individual with a specialism in either (though preferably with a bias more towards complex structural work). You should have solid experience working in the steel industry (especially relevant for detailing for fabricators). Applicants must have the right to work and reside in the UK.

Key responsibilities:

  • Tekla Detailing.
  • Liaising with Client Design Team.
  • Producing general arrangement drawings (GA’s) and 3D models from Engineer’s designs.
  • Detailing both fabrication and prep drawings for Client Team.
  • Producing site specific erection / installation plans.

Required skills:

  • Tekla Structures Versions 2017 - 2023.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to work as part of a small team.
  • You should be fully conversant and experienced with Tekla Structures software. Minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • You should have solid experience working in the steel industry within Structural and Architectural packages (especially relevant for detailing for fabricators).
