Seamless integration of Tekla software leads to successful completion of The Address Residence Sky View project

The Address Residence Sky View project, located in Dubai, was a complex and ambitious undertaking. EVERSENDAI, the company responsible for delivering this iconic development, faced a number of challenges throughout the construction process. However, thanks to their seamless integration of Tekla software, they were able to overcome these obstacles and successfully complete the project.

Success factors and challenges:

One of the most significant challenges faced by EVERSENDAI during the construction of The Address Residence Sky View was the sheer scale and complexity of the project. With two towering structures linked by a massive sky bridge and observation deck, there were countless design and engineering considerations to take into account. 

However, the use of Tekla software at the early stages of the project proved to be a game-changer for EVERSENDAI. By utilizing Tekla's advanced 3D modeling and detailing capabilities, the company was able to ensure that all structural steel components were designed, fabricated and erected with precision and efficiency. 

With the software, they were able to efficiently manage the 8200 MT of primary steel and 1800 MT of temporary steel required for the project, which was crucial in ensuring the project was completed on time and within budget.

When it came to the sky bridge, skywalk, and other steel structures requiring precise fabrication and erection, EVERSENDAI faced various unique challenges. In order to overcome these challenges, EVERSENDAI hired Tekla software, which provides 3D modeling and detailing capabilities for precision and efficiency when designing, fabricating, and erecting primary steel components. 

This was particularly crucial for the sky bridge, which at 4780 MT and supported by custom-made lifting boom systems, required accurate coordination and management of the steel components. Additionally, the software enabled EVERSENDAI to manage the complexities of the skywalk, adventure walk, cast-in spandrel plates, hotel lobby canopy, ballroom entrance canopy, ballroom roof, porte-cochere, travelator canopy and facade fly beams. 

There were major engineering challenges involved in the construction of the central span steel structure of the Sky Bridge, weighing approximately 1500 MT, and the cantilever part of the SkyWalk. 

The primary steel components were designed, manufactured and assembled with precision and efficiency using Tekla software's advanced 3D modeling and detailing capabilities. By using high-capacity hydraulic jacks and strand jacking technology, the steel structure was assembled on the ground and lifted to position.

As a result of their completion, the towers and the Sky Bridge offered a 360-degree vista of Downtown Dubai, panoramic views of the Gulf, and a 70-meter-long infinity pool overlooking the Burj Khalifa.
