The Elanco Headquarters Parking Garage is a three-story parking garage on the campus of Elanco’s new global headquarters on the west side of Indianapolis. This new facility will occupy nearly 40 acres and along with the garage will feature a six-story, glass-faced office structure that will include an attached laboratory, collaboration buildings, and an outdoor event lawn and courtyard building. The site, which has been vacant since 2011, will also be enhanced with new green space and connectivity to downtown Indianapolis. Â

Challenges and achievements
This garage was very unique for us in the formwork department. Â The garage is mostly typically details and I would even say very easy to model and design formwork for. Â However, the northeast corner alone made up for all the simplicity with one of the most complex ramp and beam intersection I have had to deal with. Â We had to get very creative in that area with every piece of formwork we designed, so they came together in a way that would be successful in the field.

Using Tekla software
Tekla structures provides us with speed and detail that we never had with any software we used before. Â The ability to quickly create simple and complex components is the biggest impact for us and our daily modeling processes. Â I have tried similar processes with other 3d modeling software and never had the versatility that Tekla gives with its component creating tools.Â
