NASCC 2017: THE STEEL CONFERENCE Booth #7035

NASCC: The Steel Conference is the ideal place for structural engineers, steel fabricators, detailers and erectors to learn about structural steel design and construction, to interact with their peers and to see the latest products for steel buildings and bridges. The Steel Conference offers more than 100 technical sessions and is the premier educational event for structural engineers, fabricators, erectors and detailers. In addition to practical seminars on the latest design concepts and construction techniques, the Conference offers an extensive trade show (featuring products ranging from structural software to machinery for cutting steel beams) and plentiful networking opportunities. It’s a once-a-year opportunity to learn the latest techniques, see the most innovative products and network with your peers and clients.

Trimble Workshops

Downstream Benefits of a Constructible Engineering Model.  A Constructible Model is differentiated from a BIM model in that Constructability is considered from the model’s initial conception all the way to fabrication. By beginning a Constructible model during the design phase, an Engineer is able to help identify design issues prior to them becoming RFIs as well as share the model downstream for detailing and construction planning. This presentation will outline further benefits of a Constructible Model for Structural Engineers.

Fully Automated Building Analysis and Design.  This workshop will explore automation in the leading 3D design program Tekla Structural Designer.  Using the built-in wind and seismic wizards we’ll see how lateral loads are calculated by the program and applied to the building.  In one step we’ll run a full gravity and lateral analysis followed by a complete design.  It’ll finish with a review of the code compliant design implementing the Direct Analysis Method and seismic checks from AISC 341.

Cloud Based Fabrication Workflows.  Trimble will demonstrate cloud-based workflows linking the design/detailing office, the fabrication shop, and the field using the multi-platform Trimble Connect solution.  Attendees will learn how Tekla Structures project information and model object statuses, as well as assembly & part fabrication information and required actions, can be shared across multiple users, desktops, the web, and mobile devices.  Join us and see how your business can capitalize on the cloud-enabled workflows that are changing the way the steel industry works.
