Localization and Training

This session will cover the localization improvements in Tekla Structures 2017 that are applicable to all US customers.  We will also discuss updated information about the various training courses and option that are available as well as general information regarding the local Tekla Software Help Desk that is available to serve you.

Trimble Connect

Trimble Connect simplifies the exchange of files and project information by combining file management, viewing, messaging and activities in one, simple-to-use tool that is always available - anywhere, anytime. This session will provide an overivew of the new features that are available when using Tekla Structures and Trimble Connect.

Breakout Sessions:

Breakout session will cover topics over the specific workflows of Tekla Structures users.  Attendees can select which sessions they are interested in and learn about topics such as:

New for Modeling and Drawing Production Tools for Steel

This session will give an introduction to all of the new Tekla Structures 2016i and 2017 improvements that enhance modeling production and accelerate the drawing production and editing process.

Using the Organizer for Quantity Take Off

See how Tekla users utilize the powerful organizer tool to break down the model for quantity take off and export to excel. Use the organizer to interrogate the model and pull any data from any field in one single location. QTO, Production Management, Commenting and Pour Planning are just some of the ways concrete contractors can use the organizer to make model management faster and much more accurate.

Interoperability

This session aims to highlight a few of the various programs that Tekla Structures has bespoke links with. Whether the project is initiated in Revit, RISA, or Smart3D, the geometry can always be reused rather than recreated. Once the model is in Tekla Structures, the connection design can be linked to the model using either Risa Connection, Qnect or in house spreadsheets.

Introduction to EstiModeling

We will discuss a general workflow showing how to use Tekla Structures for estimating.  We will show how to insert a PDF to help generate a model, insert connections using autoconnections and use the organizer to get the proper reports.

Project Viewer - From the Field to the Project Office

Understand how to harness multiple Tekla Structures licenses to make your project more efficient.  From Construction Modeling Licenses in the office and Project Viewers on site combined with our model sharing platform, Tekla Structures is the ultimate information management tool to control and track production and project management in real time between the site and office. Also, use Tekla Structures to decrease the time required to gather important project data for project review meetings. View tasks, pull pour quantities, order rebar and track formwork erection with the use of the Project Viewer.

Drawings

Tekla Structures engineering drawings have been the subject of much development lately. While we still believe that the model should be the basis for the drawings, with many incremental improvements, it's now much easier to customize linework, annotations, printing and exporting of 2D deliverables.

Utilizing BIM and Field Layout

Using the Layout Manager within Tekla Structures allows users to import and export layout data between Tekla Structures and a field layout device. The Layout Manager enables you to use accurate model data on the construction site. Layout Points can be sent from the model to a field layout device and layout points captured by the field layout device can also be transferred back into the Tekla model.  This allows as-built data to be transferred back to the detailed model for verification and coordination to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Formwork - Automated Panel Arrangement

Watch how Tekla's new formwork tools can be used to quickly and accurately model manufacturers formwork systems onto modeled concrete for planning and quantity take-off. Learn how to use the Peri or Doka system in Tekla Structures' automated tools from the Tekla Warehouse or alternatively how to add your own proprietary system into the tools.

Tekla Structures Tips & Tricks for Steel

This sessions will focus on some tips and tricks that can be used when creating items, custom components, and macros in Tekla Structures.  It will also cover some tips for improving the automation of drawing creating and clean up.

Tekla for Tilt-Up

See how using Tekla Structures' automatic wall layout tools can be applied in a tilt wall project to model quickly over received project information. Add knockouts, voids, rebar and embedment as well as use the automatic panel book drawing tools to create fabrication data from the model. Learn how to employ the detail manager to add component arrangements inside the model for faster detailing as well as the layout tools to quickly and accurately set out panels for casting on site.
