Learn how to use Tekla Portal Frame Designer effectively. Referencing knowledge of portal frame design, you will explore the theory behind our elastic-plastic analysis. We will teach you how to design multi-span portal frame structures using Tekla Structural Designer and integrate the portal frame elements with Tekla Portal Frame Designer.
The online version of this course will be delivered in 2 half day sessions and will cover exactly the same content as the classroom version. The training sessions take place via a Google Meeting, and you'll be able to see, hear and interact with the trainer and other trainees throughout the sessions.
Using TeamViewer, we will share our training laptops with you, allowing you to access and remotely control them for the duration of the course. This also enables our trainers to see your screens to assist you with any queries during the course on a 1-on-1 basis. This means that you don't need to worry about hardware specifications, licensing and software requirements, as everything you need will already be installed - you just need a computer, with a mouse, keyboard, headset with mic, and access to the internet.
All laptops will be left on throughout the whole duration of the course allowing the training sessions to remain active, so should you wish to use the afternoons to practise on the software, you can.
What you'll learn
Along with many other topics you will gain a full understanding of how to model and load a frame, achieve minimum weight design, apply lateral restraints and produce a range of documentation. In addition, you will grasp the many useful shortcuts that our experts use daily.
On completing the course, you will have the knowledge and confident required to design multi-span portal frames quickly and efficiently in Portal Frame Designer.
