UK Tekla 2020 Award winners crowned
Trimble is pleased to reveal the winners of its 2020 UK Tekla Awards, following another year of impressive entries received across its range of categories.
The annual UK Tekla Awards is open to projects of all shapes and sizes, which demonstrate the effective use of Tekla software during the design, modelling and construction phases of a project.
Richard Fletcher, Regional Business Director at Trimble, said: Our annual awards are a great opportunity to recognise those companies using BIM to help plan, manage and deliver their projects successfully. Given the recent and current challenges, it has perhaps never been more a more fitting time to celebrate the ongoing hard work and success within the industry.
Every year we are overwhelmed by the standard of entries received and 2020 has certainly been no different, with each entry demonstrating the innovative, technical and efficient use of Tekla software. We were also delighted to receive a great number of entries for our Tekla Structural Designer category, which was a new addition for this year.
Upon reviewing the entries, our judges were particularly impressed with how some customers really demonstrated the software’s modelling capabilities, such as Hewson Consulting Engineers on the Luton DART Station project – winner of the Public Project award - and the level of detail in some of the models, such as Billington Structure’s impressive and highly-detailed connections and trusses on The Glass Works – winner in the Sports & Recreation category.
It was also great to see some projects use a combination of our Tekla software and other digital technology, such as Pinnacle’s use of a cloud-point survey to assist in modelling the old Shell ‘Leman Delta’ gas platform, managing the deconstruction work and designing the new steelwork – making it a worthy Industrial Project winner.
I, on behalf of everyone at Trimble, would like to offer my congratulations to our 2020 winners and thank everyone who took the time to enter.
