When did you join the company?
I started working with Tekla software in September 2000. I had just graduated from Bremen University of Applied Sciences, from Department of Civil Engineering. At first I was working in customer service department and assisted sales team with product demonstrations. I was also responsible for the localization of Tekla Structures.
Your career in a nutshell?
I moved to Espoo in 2008 to join the concrete detailing team as a software specialist. My main responsibilities were writing specifications for new versions of Tekla Structures and testing these. I also worked closely with the programmers and helped them to understand customers’ processes. After three very interesting and fun years, I moved back to Germany where I started to manage the German development team. Our team has currently three employees of whom two are writing code. Working in this team is a lot of fun and very rewarding. As the company is very international, I have got to know many people from almost all areas of the world. Some have become really close friends.
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time I like to travel, play and watch American Football. I love to spend time with my two little sons. One of them was born in Helsinki, Finland, during our stay there.
What do you like best with your job?
The best thing in working here is the variety of different tasks. I also enjoy working together with colleagues and customers to make our product better. Last but not least is the possibility to develop my personal skills in a very professional surroundings.
