Solve were asked to model a complex wind farm base, including all reinforcement and steel cast in fittings etc, to assess buildabilty of the design intent, the feasibility of rebar bending shapes and to highlight any potential issues.
What were the challenges and what made the project successful.
By producing the 3D model, Solve was able to prove that the design intent would work and provide an exact tonnage for the client along with a 3D model to assist the steel fixers.
What benefits utilizing BIM and Tekla Software brought to the project.
Using Tekla Structures to model every single bar and piece of steel, enabled a very complex reinforcement structure and bar arrangement to be visualised very early on. 2D drawings alone would not provide this level of visibility, even with many 2D sections and details, which would take a long time to produce, and would still not give the simple visibility a 3D model brings.
