Tekla at thinkBIM 2013

Leeds Metropolitan University has set up a ThinkBIM Network to provide support and information to enable the smooth transition towards the use of BIM in projects. The thinkBIM series of talks will attempt to answer questions with high profile keynote speakers to stimulate debate and provide information regarding becoming BIM enabled. Come and ask about Tekla, we'll be there!

BIM Design and Preconstruction: Influence and importance of the supply chain

This event is in conjunction with _space and BIM Technologies and will feature a presentation from Sir Robert McAlpine and their team working on the NE batch of the Priority Schools Programme. Join us as they discuss their BIM development on such schemes, how the new government procurement route for schools is driving building efficiencies to new levels and how BIM gave the team a winning edge at bid stage.

Sir Robert McAlpine will be joined by Metsec Framing, emphasising how their early modelling has quickend the design and review process which inturn has enabled designers to hit a shorter design period. And finally, British Gypsum will present how they are using BIM workflows for bid winning, improving specifications, the advantage of working with data rich objects and benefits of early supply chain engagement.
