Tho Xuan Airport or Tho Xuan Airport, formerly known as Sao Vang Airport, is a military-civilian mixed-use airport in Sao Vang Town, Tho Xuan District, Thanh Hoa Province, 45 km west of the city. Thanh Hoa city. This is a military airfield level I, the base of the 923rd Bomber Battalion (Yen The Brigade)
Initially there was a 3,200 meter runway. According to the project set up in Thanh Hoa province in 2012, Tho Xuan airport will be planned to serve civil aviation combined.
On February 5, 2013, the first flight between Ho Chi Minh City and Thanh Hoa landed at Tho Xuan Airport, marking a new stage of development for this military-to-military airport. The launch of civil aviation service has also changed its name, from Sao Vang military airport to Tho Xuan airport. This event has great significance for the socio-economic development of Thanh Hoa Province. The project has been approved by the concerned parties and the investment decision.
