Shanghai Tongking Science and Technology Development Company Ltd. is one of the first privately-owned building and construction companies in China. The secret of his success is his long-term focus on studying steel structures, specializing especially in steel connections, while also becoming familiar with fabrication, welding and erection.   Tongqing is now able to control the whole steel construction process from structural design, detailing and fabrication to erection. Zhu concludes by saying: “It is no exaggeration to say that only Tekla Structures software and integrated NC equipment allows steel structures to be standardized, modularized and assembled to accelerate the speed of erection at the construction site.” More and lighter steel structures for China What is the company’s vision for the future? What kind of growth can they expect after the success they have already accomplished and how are they going to utilize Tekla Structures to gain the most benefit from the application in the Chinese market?   “Our direction is to develop the systematical design of steel structures and to provide our customers with the best construction and detail drawings,” says Zhu Fuhua. “With safety as the number one aim, we want to cut down the weight of steel to try to make the cost of steel structures closer to concrete buildings with similar conditions. My opinion is that this will encourage more and more steel structures to be used in China. During the process, I am positive that we will cooperate very closely with Tekla.”
