Trimble at Intermat ASEAN 2018 and Concrete Asia 2018, Thailand
Two significant tradeshows for the region’s construction and infrastructure industries took place in Thailand recently – Intermat ASEAN and Concrete Asia. Buoyed by the rapid infrastructure developments in the ASEAN region, Intermat ASEAN aims to be the platform for the region’s construction market, and for this year, the event was also co-located with Concrete Asia. Held on 6 to 8 September, these events gathered over 5,000 industry professionals to network, explore developing trends and source for products and expertise.
As the technology leader in BIM solutions, Trimble was represented by its 54sqm booth, which showcased its market leading solutions such as SketchUp, Tekla software, as well as its solutions for Civil Engineering and Construction. Despite this being Trimble’s first-ever participation in a tradeshow in Thailand, Trimble’s booth was very well received by visitors. A key highlight was in having Thailand’s Deputy Minister of Transport, H.E. Mr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, pay a visit to the booth to find out more about Trimble solutions.
Trimble was also invited to present at the event’s mainstage, and amongst the hot topics presented by Trimble were ‘How digital trends in construction will transform civil engineering and construction’ and ‘How BIM can help businesses succeed in an ever growing, open and competitive market’, which were respectively presented by Trimble’s regional sales and distribution manager, Andrew Tull, and Trimble Thailand’s country manager, Pongsura Angkananuchat.
Not forgetting Trimble’s cutting edge future technology, Trimble also provided a demonstration of mixed reality in construction projects, with Trimble Connect and Hololens. Mixed reality in construction is a highly anticipated technology that is set to revolutionise how people design and build, and the demonstration was naturally well received by visitors eager to learn more about it.
Another notable moment from the show was the launch of Trimble Connect, Trimble’s revolutionary collaboration solution that makes project information transparent, traceable, and accessible for everyone involved in a project. This caused a stir amongst the local media, with many trade publications interviewing Pongsura Angkananuchat, country manager for Trimble Solutions Thailand. “Trimble Connect can reduce costs and improve efficiency for buildings and infrastructure projects by consolidating and seamlessly exchanging information throughout the project design, build, and operate lifecycle. This collaboration solution helps construction companies build better by making information transparent, traceable and accessible to everyone involved in a project” Pongsura said.
