Modeling of the metallic formwork system for a concrete building with 5 floors and a height of 12 meters. With this modeling, we first sought to establish the amount of metallic formwork elements necessary to build the structure of the building composed mainly of walls and slabs in concrete, secondly it was intended to simulate the construction process, ie the Assembly of the formwork system and construction of concrete elements.
The use of Tekla Structures was a determining factor in the achievement of these objectives, since it facilitated the 3D modeling of the formwork system by allowing the creation of a wide catalog of formwork components, among which are boards, corners, angles, trusses and metal parales, also allowed to perform the simulation of the construction process based on the programming established for it. In that order of ideas, thanks to all the tools that Tekla provides, a 4D model was created for the management of the building formwork.
In addition, with the realization of this project and the feedback obtained, an educational strategy based on problem-based learning and the BIM methodology for the analysis of formwork in construction projects was proposed, in order to promote the use of tools such as Tekla in the training of civil engineering professionals.
