Edensforsen power plant is located in Ångermanälven (Ångerman River) in Sollefteå and was commissioned in 1956. The plant consists of a 100 m long section of spillway with adjacent power station and filling ponds on either side of the spillway. Based on the results of investigations and model tests, which revealed shortcomings in dam safety, decided UNIPER (E.ON) to implement a number of dam safety measures relating to both the concrete embankment dams, and WSP was hired to design them. Concrete parts were projected in Tekla. They included a new spillway with its 17 m wide segment hatch and downstream of this broadened spillway channel with new section wall. Construction documents delivered in drawing form, but were complemented continuously with an updated model for visualization, where the parts were color since.
