I have designed a school building project using Tekla software and imported some reference models from Revit architecture software. I have also built this school building according to some Indian floor standards. Each floor was built according to the procedure of IS. This school was designed in an architecture structure. In this school, a separate football ground was allotted and designed. On the top of the floor, a special dome structure along with a steel truss was designed at the top of the building.
Beams were used in different thicknesses and a curved, circular column with different thickness and different profiles was used. Architecture work was fully done. I have used many types of connections. Mostly I used welded connectios, because it is easy to repair on-site. Parking for cars is allotted, and water tanks are provided and emergency exit are provided at the back side of the building. Trees are inserted from revit architecture by converting it to the IFC file. Tekla software is very user friendly. My long term goal is to build a primary school and serve the people.
Judges comments, “Complex and interesting project design to accommodate the football pitch inside the building. Use of interoperability with Revit for the Architectural design and not just as a reference but also using the IFC converter to maximize the efficiency in design. Level of detail in the model including modelling of connections to understand the constructability of the overall project.”
