The model of the bus stop was created by Michaela Herblichová, a 3rd-year student of the Secondary School of Civil Engineering in Valašské Meziříčí. The focus of her studies is on Civil Engineering and Architecture.
The structure consists of frames of HEA profiles, which are transversally and longitudinally interconnected and screwed over the front plates. Frames and ridge-welded roof rails are resilient glass roof panels made of heat-treated laminated (safety) glass. A similar material is used on vertical transparent walls. The student added a bench welded from thin-walled steel square profiles.
The model was developed within a group of subjects related to building structures and their modeling in 3D BIM programs. The modeling student used the Tekla Structures program. Finished the model in the Lumion visualization program.
In view of the nature of the bus stop, it was placed in the industrial area of Dolní Vítkovice in Ostrava (a monument on the European Cultural Heritage list). SketchUp was also used to create the environment.
The acquired knowledge would be developed by the student at the university and later on in practice.
Special challenges
The challenge for the student was to complete the finished project in a limited period of time for other study duties. The challenge was also to discover new ways to model Tekla and to transfer the model among several 3D programs.
