THE PROJECT

The Warner Bros. The park will be a fully immersive world of fun and adventure spread throughout several distinct themed zones.

The scope of Eversendai was to provide Connection Design, Shop Drawings, BIM Implementation & Coordination, Erection Engineering Study & Stage Analysis, Workshop Fabrication Drawings, Supply, Fabrication, Painting, Fire Proofing, Composite Floor Decking, and Erection of Primary and Secondary Structural Steel Works. All the above scope of works were completely taken care of in-house, by the Engineering Department of Eversendai, and successfully completed in line with project schedules.

CHALLENGE AND SUCCESS FACTOR

The Theme Park consists of approximately 112,000 square meters of gross floor area. The Structural Design of the overall building frame was developed via braced steel framework deploying long span rafter truss and spine rafter trusses to create large internal spacing typical 60-70m in spans. Internal structures adopt reinforced in-situ concrete to form flat slabs with local drop and beams, column supports and stability via either shear walls or portal frames.

Roofing concepts have been developed on the basic need to achieve relatively large clear span spaces without column intrusion to allow the maximum flexibility for the attraction boxes and to achieve the architectural space requirements for public amenity areas. As such large aircraft hanger like frames are required which must provide adequate internal clearance whilst ensure lateral sway movement is controlled to acceptable standards.

Apart from the Primary Steel Structure, there are many small internal steel buildings exist inside this Theme Park and all those Structures including Secondary Steelworks were also executed by Eversendai.

WHY TEKLA

Considering the complex interface requirements with various special trades, the BIM Implementation and coordination played a vital role in successful completion of this project. Tekla BIMSight was used extensively to identify the clashes with other trades such as Show Contractors, Theme Contractors for various plays, Architectural & MEP and Interior Contractor. All the clashes were identified prior to start editing the fabrication drawings and successfully resolved with all trades, thus avoiding a lot of rework in fabrication and erection. In this aspect, Tekla Software with its user-friendly platform played a major role in the successful completion of this project on time.

The complex structural connection requirements and the precise BIM coordination requirements make this project as one of the most challenging projects for Eversendai. As always with Eversendai, this project was also successfully modeled and coordinated with all other trades and fabrication drawings were released in line with the project schedule successfully.
