Winners of 2015 UK Tekla Model Competition Announced

The winners of the tenth annual UK Tekla Awards 2015 have been revealed after a panel of construction industry judges deliberated over the finalists.

The panel had the tough task of choosing a winner in each of the seven categories of the awards, which included: BIM Project, Engineering, Engineering (Analysis & Design), Concrete (cast in situ), Concrete (precast), Steel, Miscellaneous and the final award was The People’s Choice.

The Tekla Awards focus on projects of all shapes and sizes, which have used Tekla software as part of the process for designing and modeling structures, or where the use of Tekla software has aided collaboration.

Andrew Bellerby, Managing Director at Tekla, comments: “Once again our model competition has yielded some fabulous projects where the use of 3D modeling software has revolutionized the design, planning and delivery.  The awards are a great way for our customers to raise their company profile and we want to say a big thank you to everyone who took the time to submit an entry.”

Expert judges from the construction industry, consisted of Jason Underwood from the University of Salford; Mark Crowe, BIM Academy; Richard Ogden, Build Offsite; Jonathon Lock from AECOM; Rob Jackson at Bond Byron Associates and Greg Cork from AEC magazine.

The panel were looking for standout projects that impressed through the complexity, attention to detail and collaboration involved.
