Tekla delivers software solution for managing and maintaining NSVA’s water and sewer network
Tekla Corporation Press release September 17, 2012
Tekla delivers Tekla Solution for water utilities to Nordvästra Skånes Vatten och Avlopp AB (NSVA) in the south of Sweden. With Tekla Solution, NSVA manages and maintains its water and sewer network in the areas of Bjuv, Båstad, Helsingborg, Landskrona, Svalöv and Åstorp.
NSVA, a water utilities company owned by the six municipalities, has chosen Tekla NIS as its network information system. Tekla NIS is in the core of Tekla Solution for water utilities, a modular set of software and services for water utilities’ business operations. The agreement between NSVA and Tekla covers software for managing and maintenance of water and sewer networks. The agreement also covers WFS-export functionality for distribution of information to a large number of iPads in the organization and the municipalities owning NSVA.
According to NSVA’s Water Supply GIS Engineer Tord Roshagen, NSVA chose Tekla Solution for water utilities as a result of public tender process in which Tekla submitted the most favorable economical solution. – Previously we had six different network information systems from three different suppliers. In some cases the maintenance data was not connected to the objects and only existed as information on geographical points. With Tekla NIS, data utilization will be more efficient, because all network and maintenance information is saved in the same database.
Account Manager Peter Lindmark from Tekla Software AB describes the benefits the customers gain from using Tekla’s software solution. – Our solution is an all-in-one package where the documentation is not only for the documentation purpose but also for maintenance, network calculations, GIS-analysis, asset management and operation of the networks. It is a big advantage for an organization when all work is based on the same data for everybody to utilize.
NSVA is the fourth largest water utilities company in Sweden, providing water and sewage services to approximately 225,000 customers. The plan is to have the networks of all six municipalities in operation in Tekla NIS before the end of 2012.
