The new UCSF Lab building is Base Isolated utilizing the latest seismic design technology. The presentation highlights how the team utilized an IPD process, along with Tekla Structures, which proved instrumental for the success of the project.
Paperless Project Handover and BIM Enabled Facilities Maintenance

Gino Cecchetto of Blach Construction is presenting on the BIM deliveries he and his firm deliver to their clients, highlighting the Alum Rock Elementary School District in Northern California. Gino will discuss how Blach Construction utilizes Tekla Structures for Construction Management to streamline the handover process and provide their clients with a ‘living’ model. This model can then be used by facilities personnel to simplify their daily activities long after Blach has completed their work.

The new USC School of Cinema is a 5 building complex that was designed and built using the latest in integrated multi-discipline BIM design delivery. Two of the buildings include state-of-the-art rotating wall, fused, repairable seismic resisting systems . The presentation highlights how the structural engineer utilized Tekla to develop the design model which was then used to produce the shop drawings for both the structural steel and the concrete reinforcing steel in a vertically as well as horizontally integrated process.
