Tekla / Trimble Shop & Field Layout: Integration for the Steel Fabricator & Erector
What if you could take steel assembly geometry directly from a BIM model and layout the assembly in the shop with the laser precision of a Robotic Total Station? What if you could capture as-built conditions or anchor bolt locations in the field and verify with the fabrication model prior to mobilizing your crew?
All of this and more IS available with the Tekla Structures Layout Manager and the integration with Trimble Robotic Total Stations.
Don’t lose valuable time and accuracy in the shop or the field by manually scaling distances, calculating angles from drawings, turning angles with theodolites, and pulling tapes to measure distances. Take advantage of the precision of a fully detailed BIM model and the speed and precision of Trimble layout solutions.
Join us for this webinar and find out how to leverage this technology in your work to gain speed and accuracy with a solution that pays for itself in short order.

Steel Day Webinar: Speeding Up the Joist Delivery Process
This webinar will discuss a revolutionary, BIM enabled improvement to the joist and steel procurement process that maintains a hard bid and reduces the time period between bid and installation. Real, as-built joist information is made available early and can be coordinated with the mechanical, electrical and plumbing trades during the critical stages of design.
Jerod Hoffman, P.E., Principal of structural engineering firm Meyer Borgman Johnson (MBJ), will describe his experience. This experience includes several projects in which the time from award of joist package to return of approved shop drawings and calculations was reduced significantly. Accurate joist information has enabled MBJ to identify and resolve design issues early in the schedule and prevent costly delays on site.
This new joist process benefits all parties to the project, including the structural engineer, detailer, fabricator, joist manufacturer, general contractor and, of course, the owner.

Concrete BIM: Myth or Reality?
Is the BIM bandwagon just for architects and engineers? With so many myths circulating about its use or lack of use in concrete construction someone needs to share the facts. This webinar will explore and explode some of those common myths...for example…
Myth 1: BIM is for designers and architects

Concrete BIM: Adding Details to your Model
This webinar will showcase how Tekla Structures produces construction level models – everything is in the model. You will see how easy it is to add details such as rebar, plates, embeds etc to the structure and then learn how the automated numbering system generates piece marks for you. See how you can then create and customize placing drawings, lift drawings, and pour drawings all from the Concrete BIM.

Concrete BIM: Flatwork and Foundations
Even if you are a contractor that focuses on flatwork and foundations BIM can still bring you benefits. See how Tekla Structures can be used to model your concrete, produce accurate take-offs and estimates and produce any drawings you might need. The model can then be used to automate the layout, and erection process by linking it with survey and layout tools like the Trimble Nomad. We will then show how sharing and coordinating your model with others on the job site can save you even more time and money.
