Congratulations to all of our 2010 North America BIM Award winners and participants. Voting took place August 9-14 with the winners announced at the 2010 Tekla Structures North America User Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. We had a lot of great entries this year, click on the categories to the left to view all of the projects. Winners of each category are automatically entered into the 2010 Global BIM Awards taking place this fall.
Category 1 – Industrial/Civil Model – Steel and/or Concrete
Industrial/Civil category examples include power and process facilities, materials handling, heavy concrete installations, water treatment plant, bridges.
Winner: M3 Engineering, Mercedes Mine
Category 2 – Commercial/Institutional Model – Steel
Model is predominantly steel but can include other materials. Commercial/Institutional examples include office, retail, government, sporting, religious, performing arts, educational, parking, transportation.
Winner: Technyx Canam, Pittsburgh Arena
Category 3 – Commercial/Institutional Model – Concrete
To qualify for Category 3 – Commercial / Institutional Concrete, the project model should be predominantly concrete but can include other materials. Commercial / Institutional examples include commercial offices, retail, government, sporting, religious, performing arts, educational, parking or transportation.
Winner: Newcrete Products, The New Pittsburgh Arena Parking Garage
Category 4 – Collaborative Project
Commercial/Institutional projects in which Tekla Structures has played a significant role and
multiple parties have collaborated using BIM to benefit project delivery. Project may be submitted by one Tekla Structures User company or multiple User companies.
Winner: DPR Construction, Sutter Medical Center- Castro Valley
