Tekla Corporation Press release November 9, 2011
Tekla's software solution for model-based construction collaboration was selected as the most innovative product for construction industry at Batimat exhibition in France. With more than 2700 exhibitors and over half a million visitors, Batimat is one of the biggest construction exhibitions in the world.
"As a software company, receiving recognition for innovation supporting the whole construction industry, is incredibly rewarding," remarked Jean-Yves Vetil, Managing Director, Tekla France. "Our focus has always been developing software for our customers in building and construction. Winning this award demonstrates that we are listening to market requirements and delivering a solution that changes design coordination methods and utilisation of models for project collaboration in a much bigger way. This is not recognition only for Tekla and Tekla BIMsight, but for the whole BIM process being one of the hottest topics in the construction industry"

With its software, Tekla drives the evolution of digital information models and thus provides more and more competitive advantage to the construction, infrastructure and energy industries. The company was established already in 1966, and today it has customers in 100 countries, offices in 15 countries, and a global partner network. Tekla became part of Trimble Group in 2011.
With an ambition to multiply its customers' potential to think and achieve big, Tekla provides a BIM (Building Information Modelling) software environment that can be shared by contractors, structural engineers, steel detailers and fabricators, as well as concrete detailers and manufacturers.
The highly detailed as-built 3D models created, combined and distributed with Tekla software enable the highest level of constructability and production control. Centralising building information into the model allows for more collaborative and integrated project management and delivery. This translates into increased productivity and elimination of waste, thus making construction and buildings more sustainable.
