Hämeenlinnan Seudun Vesi Oy is a water and wastewater utility that operates the water and sewer networks of seven municipalities in central Finland.
Before Tekla NIS, the company managed the networks of each municipality in separate systems. The network data in different municipalities was also stored in different coordinates and used different height systems. As a result, there was a clear need to combine all the network information in one place and to make the data about different networks compatible with each other. Tekla NIS is a part of Tekla Solution for water utilities that allowed this.
To ease change from the old systems to the new one, Tekla NIS was first implemented simply for network data storage. During the second stage of the implementation, Hämeenlinnan Seudun Vesi started to use also Tekla Maintenance as a network maintenance tool.
The Chief Executive Officer, Timo Heinonen, describes the situation as follows: "The company is planning to double its renovation operations in the future. With Tekla's solution, we can systematically gather condition information about our assets and target our renovation operations more efficiently."
