In general, Tekla Structures 17 beta version testers from all over the world think that the new Tekla Structures version introduces some very useful new features and great improvements. Read here what they have to say about the new version.
It appears that Tekla are committed to advancing their development and ironing out the product before its release.
It would be a challenge to Tekla's competitors to attempt to achieve the same level of commitment!
The new association visualization (cloning and associative drawings) is a great improvement. Drawings are a lot less crowded now. The association symbols need to be shown by default as this will help in finding unassociated objects and increase the quality of cloned drawings. The result of cloning was really better than ever before.
Better cloning is the most important feature for me to increase steel production.
More colors for object representation; in in the PEMB world this is a big step forward. With more colors available in Tekla Structures, we can present the different color panels on the buildings we design.
It's brilliant to have more colors!
The new snap feature is wonderful. You just need to keep in mind which snapping tool you're currently using.
Create Surface View is a very good feature. I could do this before by creating a view to a part plane, cutting a perpendicular view, and then creating a view to the specific plane, but this is much easier. A very good improvement and so much easier to execute!
I like this surface views feature the best! It should help me with
3-plate modeling and checking.
DSTV contour marking is a good tool. I'm sure that the local and international fabricators we collaborate with will make use of this when their machinery is capable of using it. Good to see advancement in NC development.
Possibility to use short seams with target spacing; this alone is a great reason for me to upgrade! Seams in warped structures is an awesome new tool which appears to be working flawlessly from the tests that I did. This is a huge leap forward for handling seams and makes building a seam connection much less intensive.
Multiple bending radius works as well as anything else in Tekla. Really pleased with the changing radius of rebar bending.
Nearly all of the enhancements in Tekla Structures 17 have been anticipated. This version adds a good bit of functionality we need and are very pleased with so far.
