Tekla BIMsight used in the biggest single investment in South Australian road project
The $812 million South Road Superway project is the biggest single investment in a South Australian road project and the state's most complex engineering road construction project to date. A total re-design of the areas existing road network, the South Road Superway features an elevated transit corridor with multiple lanes in each direction. When complete in December 2013, this project will improve access for local businesses and the surrounding residential and commercial area. It consists of piers and segments where reinforcement, post tension and services needed to be checked thoroughly for clashes. Bianco Precast, having impressed the client with their 3D capabilities to virtually review these issues using the technology of Tekla and the Tekla BIMsight application was granted the job. Having only two weeks of training and being new to Tekla software added more challenge to creating the working model. Bianco Precast succeeded with the task because even during the modeling stage, potential problems/clashes were already being raised and were able to be discussed and coordinated with the engineers.
