The Tekla Xpower Reliability-based Network Analysis & Asset Management (RNA&AM) application allows the network designer to analyze the operating reliability of planned and existing networks.
RNA&AM is a tool for strategic planning. It takes into consideration the following factors:
- Electrical and mechanical state of the network
- Location and environmental factors, such as the surrounding trees and typical weather conditions in the area
- Operation and maintenance costs, including predictions for interruptions based on interruption history
- Interruption costs, in case the customers must be compensated for interruption periods
- Value of the quality experienced by the customer
RNA&AM is a fully parametrizable and configurable application in which each utility can set up the parameters to fit its individual needs and valuations.
The RNA&AM calculation is performed after the initial plan for a new or changed network has been made. It allows the network designer to compare different scenarios based both on their costs and long-term reliability.
RNA&AM also allows the network designer to analyze the existing network to determine which parts of the network, if renovated, yield the highest improvements in the overall costs of operation for the entire network. The calculation results are turned into the long term investment plan and are used in investment strategy creation.
