Tekla only collects personal information in order to provide the legal users of Tekla software with product, service and related information.
Tekla only collects personal information that You provide to us and personal information on how You use Tekla software in the course of ordering or obtaining support for Tekla products and services, at our web sites such as teklabimsight.com and tekla.com (referred separately and jointly as ‘Tekla Online Services’) or at Tekla marketing and sales events. ‘Personal information’ shall mean any information on You from which You are identifiable to Tekla or a third party. You are generally free to provide only such personal information that You determine. However, certain offerings will require that You provide specific data (e.g. for online support). You are required to provide:

Tekla uses Your personal information, to improve Tekla’s services, contact You, conduct research, customize advertising and content for You to see, and to fulfil Your requests for products and services.
You agree that Your contact information will be searchable and viewable by anyone that accesses the Tekla Online Services. Your name, role and company information, if applicable, is always visible to all users.
In order to improve the content of Tekla Online Services, Tekla tracks the amount of time You spend browsing the Tekla Online Services, the pages You visited, and the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) click streams You use when navigating through the Tekla Online Services. Tekla Online Services does recognize Your domain name but does not automatically collect personal information about You. Tekla also collects aggregate information on what pages of the Tekla Online Services are visited. However, no personal information is collected unless volunteered through mechanisms such as surveys or registrations.
Tekla tracks the use of the Tekla Online Services in order to measure user and company activity and the ranking of community members. The personal information collected in this context is also used to improve software and online services.
If You use Tekla Online Services, various communications within the Tekla Online Services will result in a transfer of personal information across international boundaries (our servers reside in the EU and United States). Accordingly, by using the Tekla Online Services, You consent to the transfer of Your personal data to the United States and/or EU.

For certain areas of Tekla Online Services, Tekla requests registration information from You, and You are free to provide this personal information or deny the request. If You do not provide the requested personal information, You will still be able to access most of the Tekla Online Services. However, You will not be able to access certain areas and/or services included in the Tekla Online Services.

It is Tekla's policy that the personal information You provide to Tekla is not distributed to non-affiliated third parties for their use or sale. In certain circumstances Tekla may provide Your information to third parties when we reasonably believe that it is required to do so by law. Additionally, You consent that Tekla may provide your personal information to certain business partners or service providers of Tekla in the course of providing you with information, products or services. We are committed to children's privacy.
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important to Tekla. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we know are under the age of 15, and no part of the Tekla Online Services is structured to attract anyone under 15.
You can change and correct your personal information.
If You have a MyTekla account, You may access the personal information that has been recorded on the Tekla Website and update or correct Your personal information at any time. To do this, log in to the MyTekla account at the Tekla BIMsight or other Tekla Online Services. You also have a right at any time to request Tekla to remove Your personal information. Such request to remove personal information may cause termination of Your MyTekla account.
Cookies.
Tekla utilizes ’cookies‘to make Tekla Online Services more user-friendly and to provide enhanced and customized features during Your visits to the Tekla Online Services. Cookies are small bits of data that are sent to Your browser and stored on Your computer's hard drive. Cookies are used in the Tekla Online Services for the purposes of recognizing You and Your country and language preferences but we do not use them to collect your personal information. If You have MyTekla account with us, Tekla uses cookies to recognize You and to pre-fill forms to save your time. Tekla does not mandate cookies for You to access the Tekla Online Services, and should You not want the Cookies to be used when You use the Tekla Online Services, You may freely set Your browser to reject all cookies or to prompt You to accept or reject them.
Illegal use of Tekla software.
Tekla regards software piracy (as defined in the applicable laws) as criminal offence, and we view offenders accordingly. We do not tolerate illegal copies and distribution of Tekla software products, and we pursue those who do so (both civilly and criminally) using all legal means available, including public and private surveillance resources. As part of these efforts, Tekla utilizes data monitoring and sourcing technologies to the maximum extent permitted by applicable laws to obtain and transmit data on the users of illegal copies of our software. This data collection is not performed on the users of legally licensed software from Tekla and its authorized distributors.
Protection of information.
Tekla will take reasonable steps necessary to protect the information You provide to us. We continually review our security procedures and mechanisms to ensure that adequate protections are in place. Tekla Online Services may contain links to other web sites. Tekla is not responsible for the privacy practices, security, or content of these sites.
