Tekla Corporation Press Release September 26, 2008
Tekla strengthens its supply to the energy industry
Tekla is strengthening its network information system Tekla Xpower, which is used for operative property management of energy networks, by acquiring the Swedish company OakTree Software AB. In connection with the acquisition, Tekla is taking over the X-Opto system. X-Opto includes functions for documents, planning, and administration of fiber networks and is a system which OakTree has been developing for more than 10 years.
Tekla and OakTree Software AB worked together for two years before going ahead with the acquisition. Through the acquisition, Tekla wants to strengthen the development of X-Opto, increase integration between Tekla Xpower and X-Opto and obtain synergy benefits.
The acquisition of X-Opto broadens the range of solutions offered by Tekla Xpower, and the system's characteristics meet requirements better than ever, including on the Swedish market. The acquisition of OakTree Software AB means that product development, marketing, and customer service will be included in Tekla's business Infra & Energy.
The two employees of OakTree will continue working at Tekla in order to ensure further program development, continuity of customer service, and support functions.
