Tekla software products are sold in the international market to clearly defined customer segments and they are meant for professional use.
Tekla has two business areas, Building & Construction and Infra & Energy.
Building & Construction
Tekla's Building & Construction business area (B&C) develops and markets Tekla Structures software for model-based design of steel and concrete structures as well as the management of fabrication and construction.
Tekla B&C mainly serves four customer segments:
- steel detailers and fabricators
- construction companies and constructors
- precast concrete fabricators
- engineering offices
In 2007, Building & Construction stood for nearly 80 percent of Tekla's total net sales. B&C's net sales are generated all over the world with customers in more than 80 countries. The biggest market area of B&C is North America.
Infra & Energy
The Infra & Energy business area (I&E) develops and sells model-based software solutions to its key customer industries in
I&E's product-based offering also comprises customer projects where product features are developed in cooperation with individual customers or customer groups. Product entities developed in the projects are offered to other customers as well.
In 2007, Infra & Energy stood for some 20 percent of Tekla's total net sales with customers in some 10 countries.
