BIM: Sutter Medical Center in Castro Valley, USA, by cross-organizational IPD team; winner of BIM project category and public vote
“The winner of the BIM category, Sutter Medical Center, has been carried through on stringent schedule and costs with outstanding results,” said the jury. “Building information modeling was used in an exemplary way of maximized collaboration. The project was managed based on the model with all disciplines utilizing the modeled building information and fitting in a huge amount of HVAC pipes and equipment needed for a hospital to function."

Steel: Chennai airport expansion, India, by Yugasoft;

"This model introduces a nice, complicated shape of a steel structure. The project was complex and difficult to execute but was carried out successfully through straight-forward building information modeling," said the jury.

Concrete: Office building at Catharina-Amaliastraat in the Netherlands by Hurks Delphi Engineering; winner of the Concrete category
"Complex structure and shape with unique pieces and project-specific precast connections and all types of material fully detailed. The model has been used in several different ways in multi-user mode," said the jury.

Special recognition: Helsinki Gramofoni, Finland, by engineering office Ylimäki & Tinkanen; exemplary BIM collaboration in an ordinary housing project of Skanska.
"In this model, BIM is at its most advanced. The project shows that even an ordinary residential building can be modeled effectively and by focusing on the true nature of BIM as a collaboration process," said the jury.
