Rules and other information 



The contestants to the Global BIM Awards competition are the winners of regional model competitions held by Tekla offices and resellers during 2010. If there have been several impressive projects in any of the local competitions, the area office/reseller have had the possibility to choose the best models to enter the competition in addition to the official winner. The competition has been divided into three categories:

Material requirements

Tekla has the right to reject a model from the competition if any required material is missing. Only one model per category per submitting company will be accepted to the competition.

Entrants must provide:

  • A .db1 and profile database file of the Tekla Structures model
  • Sample drawings of the project (2-3 PDFs)
  • English description of the project and how BIM as a process has been utilized in the project
  • Permission for Tekla to use the model and images of the model for marketing and sales demonstration purposes
Jury

The winners of the Global BIM Awards competition will be decided by a jury of leading BIM experts in the world. The members of the jury are:

Voting

In addition to the winners chosen by the jury, there is a public vote for the favorite project.  An Apple iPad will be drawn among the voters. Please note that you can only vote once for your favorite project, so only the first vote will count. In addition to the winners chosen by the jury and the public vote, there may be special recognition to other projects.

Awards

The winner of each category (BIM, steel, and concrete and other projects) will be awarded. The winners are chosen by the jury. The awards include:

  • Press release and diploma package (diploma, trophy, and promotion on the Web)
  • Booklet and videos of winners 

Important dates:

  • The competition starts November 8, 2010.
  • Web voting is open until November 26, 2010.
  • Winners will be announced after December 8, 2010.
