Steel fabrication

Tekla Structures software ensures that all project managers, production managers, and purchasing departments receive reliable project information during the fabrication process.

Information needed for production can be automatically generated from the Tekla model. The information can then be transferred to production planning and automation systems, reducing the amount of manual work and data re-entry as well as the risk of errors.

Tekla Structures can be used to integrate with all major Management Information Systems (MIS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software in steel fabrication. Its open interface ensures a smooth transfer of data via reports or standardized formats. Some systems can export information back to the 3D model, maintaining up-to-date project status.

The data-rich Tekla model can be used as the basis for cost estimation, production planning, job preparation, and more.

Tekla Structures can also be used to integrate with computer numeric controlled (CNC) machines that support the DSTV format.

Support for latest innovation scribing

Tekla Structures software includes support for the latest industry innovation: scribing is the process of collecting assembly information from the model and then automatically transferring it by marking the locations and part marks to the main piece of the assembly itself. This automatic process reduces the laborious fitting process and ultimately reduces human error.
